These 3 photos show when I had my emergency catheter placed into my neck after my kidney function plummeted from 16% to 5%. They also show when I was hooked up to the Hemodialysis machine.

  1. I think you are brave (on the outside anyway) and very beautiful.I admire your willingness to take your story public. Although I do not have kidney disease, my fiancee does. He tried peritoneal dialysis for a while before switching to hemo. I have watched him have good and bad days. Mostly bad as Im sure you know. There is no reprieve from life on dialysis. You are right when you say its more like an existence. The pain, the sleepless nights, anxiety and fear that this will be your life from now on. The ever present “haunted” look in his eyes.You are young and beautiful and I really pray that one day you find a donor and that you can have your former life back. The one where you were healthy. Meanwhile…..laugh when it doesnt hurt, love yourself that little bit more and wish for and believe that it could change for the better. I’ll wish for you too 🙂
